This 12V 12 ah lithium battery is small but mighty. The RB12 is a deep cycle lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery. It has twice the power, half the weight and lasts much longer than its lead-acid counterparts. This powerful lithium battery packs a punch, giving you the perfect amount of power for full-day fishing and outdoor recreation adventures. It’s commonly used in the following applications: fish finders, flashers and boating electronics, ice fishing, camping, scooters, solar and emergency lighting, robotics, remote power, UPS, security backup systems, telecommunications, and other deep cycle applications.

RELiON lithium batteries provide more energy for high consumption than traditional lead-acid batteries. They also offer ultra-fast charging and discharging, high efficiency and longer cycle life – plus no maintenance!

Not all lithium batteries are created equal. All RELiON Batteries use the safest and most stable components, including a LiFePO4 cathode and a built-in Battery Management System (BMS). The BMS ensures a long lifetime, safe handling – and high-accuracy State of Charge (SOC) calculations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my existing lead-acid battery charger (Wet, AGM or Gel) to charge RELiON lithium iron phosphate batteries?
Most likely, yes. Our lithium batteries are very charger-friendly. Most chargers today have a lithium charge profile, which is what we recommend using. AGM or gel charge profile chargers will work with our batteries. We do not recommend the use of a flooded charge profile with our batteries. These chargers may reach the overvoltage protection limit and disconnect. It won’t damage the battery but will likely result in charger faults. See our Lithium Charging Instructions for more details.
Will a lithium iron phosphate battery give a longer run time than a lead-acid battery under the same conditions?
Yes. Lithium iron phosphate batteries provide more useable capacity than a lead-acid equivalently rated product. You can expect up to twice as much runtime.
How can I determine the state of charge (SOC) of my lithium iron phosphate battery?
The best way to determine the SOC of your battery is to use a battery indicator— a high-precision instrument that captures instantaneous and integrated data in real-time. RELiON’s battery indicator uses a 500A shunt to accurately measure the discharge/recharge currents and calculates the Ampere-hours (Ah) flowing in and out of the battery. Our battery indicator can be purchased here.
Can the RB12 battery be wired in series or parallel?
Our RB12 battery can be wired in parallel only. However, most RELiON batteries lithium batteries can be wired either in series or parallel. Be sure to refer to the product Data Sheet for specifics. The difference between parallel and series connections: Parallel connections involve connecting 2 or more batteries together to increase the capacity of the battery bank. In this case, the positive terminals are connected together and the negative terminals are connected together of all the batteries until you reach your desired capacity. Series connections involve connecting 2 or more batteries together to increase the voltage of the battery system. The positive of one battery is connected to the negative of another until the desired voltage is achieved. For example, if you connect 2 x 12V batteries in series, the battery system will be 24V.
