Lithium Batteries Perfect for Sailboats

Reliable Power for Exploration

Why Choose Lithium for Your Sailboat?

Long days of adventuring call for long hours of power. Sailboats have numerous components that require serious energy. Having reliable deep cycle power that can meet these extensive demands is crucial. Lithium sailboat batteries offer a solution to this need as they provide tremendous capabilities for those moments when you’re away from it all.

Lithium Advantages

Lithium batteries provide many power solutions for blue water enthusiasts.

RELiON lithium batteries provide more power than lead-acid batteries and are typically half the weight. Boosting both performance and agility on the water.

Fast Charge Time

Time to charge is a major factor of each and every battery. Lithium batteries charge significantly faster than lead acid. Plain and simple. Our lithium batteries can be charged in as fast as an hour, but we recommend using a charge rate that charges them in 2-5 hours.

Partial State of Charge Tolerant

No longer do you have to worry about fully charging your batteries before use. With lithium power a partial state of charge will not damage the health of your battery or its long-term performance.

Increased Usable Capacity

Lithium batteries have more hours of power. With 25-50% higher capacity than lead acid batteries with full power throughout discharge lithium batteries eliminate the voltage sag that is all too common with lead acid and will keep you on the water.

Temperature Tolerant

Lithium batteries can handle a wide variety of conditions and are even 2.5x more efficient at low temperatures than lead-acid while being able to safely operate up to 149°F (65°C).

Maintenance Free

Lithium batteries are maintenance free. Lithium batteries last up to 10 times longer than their lead acid counterparts while still providing 80% capacity after 2000 cycles.

RELiON Powers Greenest Sailing Vessel in the World

"RELiON donated two RB300 batteries to repower American Promise and they covered the cost of the installation by the folks at Maine Yacht Center. We went from 2 battery banks to one and installed a marine battery monitor. This will enable us to see how much power is coming into the batteries from our wind generator, solar panels, and hydro-generator while promoting how much energy we are consuming as well."
